Day 6 — Countdown to Launch
The Hope Centre in Pugwash will be a busy place on Sunday afternoon with two major events at the same time.
The Community Room — the main space in the new community facility — will play host to a live recording session with Mike Blakeney.
But the recording session is for Six Rivers Radio which is launching its new Maritime-wide radio talk show in the next room, how can that be?
The short answer, it can’t.
The Six Rivers News office is quite small though efficient, but it has outgrown the space.
Effective today, the news and radio control room will move to a larger space, even more efficient, to allow the weekly, Sunday radio program to operate simultaneously without interference with other Hope Centre activities.
The radio control booth, which is just a little bigger than a large closet, will be converted into a fully accessible washroom for Community Room guests.
The news operation will be enlarged and an actual studio will be added for more sophisticated broadcast events.
Stay tuned for Sunday at 3:00 o’clock to hear if the concert and the live talk show can, in fact, live side-by-side.
Let’sTalk will be syndicated across the Maritimes with nine stations on the launch day network.
Tickets for the Mike Blakeney concert are free but limited to 28 guests. To reserve seats, text or phone Bill at 902-614-3000.
