Houston Calls for COVID Testing at Airports
Nova Scotia’s opposition leader called for COVID testing for all passengers landing at the province’s airports.
Noting that most infections follow travel outside the Atlantic Bubble, PC Leader Tim Houston says, “Point of entry testing is the logical next step for tracking the virus and preventing its spread in our province.”
The government previously suggested that Nova Scotia would boost testing capacity to 2,500 tests per day, by mid-November. However, current numbers suggest the daily average is about 560.
Houston says, “If the province has the extra testing capacity, then there is no reason why they should not be testing at airports.”
The PC Leader says, “We were the last province to adopt the COVID Alert app, let’s not be last on airport testing as well.”
