Oxford Council Partners with Local Sports Teams
Sports teams in Oxford are invited to partner with the town in seeking sponsors for promotional signs at the arena and ballfield.
Town Council agreed tonight to give the town’s teams fifty percent of sign fees for all new advertisers. That is a fifty dollar commission for each new sign.
Deputy Mayor Rick Draper noted there are very few signs at town facilities and allowing the teams to generate some income is a win/win as partners.
The town has not actively sought advertisers and Councillor Dawn Thompson suggested, “I think businesses might be more apt to support the teams.”
The signs will be a standard size and town staff will establish some guidelines for consistency.
Teams may reach out to potential advertisers effective immediately.
