RCMP Investigate Suspicious Weekend Fires
Cumberland RCMP are looking for help with an investigation of two suspicious fires in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
The fires, within fifteen minutes of each other, were just 12 kilometres apart in the area of River Philip.
The first call was just after midnight on January 4th for a blaze in a garage at an abandoned property on Rodney Road. The second fire consumed an abandoned house on Highway 321 in River Philip.
Fire Departments from Collingwood, Oxford, and as far away as Pugwash responded to the emergency, spending much of the night on duty.
Not only was there similarity in time, location, and scene, but both properties suffered suspicious fires last summer too.
Investigators believe the fires are linked.
Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact RCMP at 902-667-3859 (Amherst), 902-447-2525 (Oxford), or 902-597-3779 (Springhill).
