Trudeau Breezes Through Amherst

The Prime Minister of Canada made a campaign whistle stop in Amherst yesterday.

Police cordoned off a section of Victoria Street in front of the Savoie Kitchen to allow the bus and security entourage, along with a large crowd on the street.

There were no speeches or interviews, but the largely partisan crowd was simply there to see Justin Trudeau.

He was flanked, at times, by Lenore Zann, the candidate for Cumberland-Colchester, and the former MP Bill Casey.

But it was Trudeau they wanted. He was swarmed by well wishers, most asking for a photo.

The PM worked his way throughout the restaurant, surrounded by his security detail.

As he headed back to his bus Trudeau was berated by a fringe party candidate on a bullhorn. Steven Garvey, representing the National Citizens Alliance of Canada, tried to embarrass the Prime Minister with unfounded accusations, but he was totally ignored.

For the love of god - what is the matter with him?

This was not a PPC candidate or person the party wants to have anything to do with. This was Stephen Garvey leader of the National Citizens Alliance and total jerk. I was told this morning that people were saying it was someone from the PPC with the bullhorn yesterday. Our candidates have more respect for citizens and the other candidates than that. This article shoud be correction enough.
