Six Rivers News Celebrates Sixth Birthday
Today marks the sixth anniversary of Six Rivers News, Radio, and TV.
The online community newspaper was launched from the basement of the Pugwash Baptist Church to fill the void left by the departure of the Oxford Journal.
It remains a not-for-profit labour of love exclusively by volunteers.
Six Rivers Radio was added a few months after the online news. A year ago today, two other radio stations joined the family with the launch of Six Rivers Country and Hope Centre Christian Radio.
While Six Rivers News has toyed with video, TV aspirations remain in the future, but now the near future. The hold up remains with inadequate or inconsistent internet service, a fact that still divides urban and rural Nova Scotia.
