Another Big Jump in NS COVID Cases
Nova Scotia’s count of active COVID cases has once again surpassed one hundred.
The province added 38 new cases after yesterday’s test results were made known.
Thirty-three cases are in Central Zone. Two are related to travel outside Atlantic Canada and two more to travel outside Canada. The people are self-isolating, as required.
Nineteen are close contacts of previously reported cases. Ten are under investigation, two of which were identified Wednesday at Bell Park Academic Centre in Lake Echo and Shannon Park Elementary in Dartmouth.
Three cases are in Eastern Zone, also are related to travel outside Atlantic Canada.
Another travel related case was identified in the Northern Zone. That person is also self-isolating, as required.
The other new case case is in Western Zone with a patient who travelled outside Canada.
One of today's cases is a confirmed UK variant case. There have been 66 cases of the UK variant, 12 of the South African variant, and one case of the Brazil variant identified in Nova Scotia.
