Blackie Officially Welcomed to Pugwash Commission
The newest commissioner was officially sworn-in tonight at a special meeting of the Pugwash Village Commission.
Christie Blackie was led through the oath of office by Commissioner for Oaths, Anne Gillis.
Blackie, a former Chair of the Commission, was recently elected by acclamation, to serve a three year term. She filled the position formerly held by Dave Farley who retired after many years of service.
Tonight’s special meeting dealt with a number of formal appointments. Outgoing Chair, Charley Gould nominated Bill Martin to succeed him. Martin had been Vice Chair. Tracey Mundle was elected Vice Chair.
Christie Blackie and Carl Purdy accepted the responsibility for the Audit Committee, and together, they will be signing officers for the village.
The next regular monthly meeting of the commission will be Monday, August 13th at 7pm.
