CANSA Celebrates Career Month
The Nova Scotia Works/CANSA Employment Services Centre in Amherst will kick-off Canada Career Month tomorrow with a special Open House.
This year’s theme is “I Know I Can Because …” emphasizing the existing and abundant skills of Canadians.
CANSA Executive Director Elizabeth Cooke Sumbu says, “Employment service delivery has undergone a dramatic transformation in this province over the past couple of years.” She said, “Nova Scotia Works Employment Services Centres offer an integrated bundle of employment services to help Nova Scotians understand, prepare for, and meet the needs of the provincial labour market.”
Cooke Sumbu added, “At the same time we are now working closely with employers in our communities in recruiting, managing and developing the talent they need to be more competitive in the global marketplace.”
She pointed out that CANSA has strengthened the skills within its own organization service delivery team with most of the staff achieving certification within the career development field.
The Open House, at the Nova Scotia Works Centre on Victoria Street in Amherst will be run from 10 am to 2 pm.
