Car Destroys a Shed at Health Care Rally
An unfortunate mishap occurred among the crowd at last night’s health care rally in Pugwash.
As the event wound down, a woman backed her car into a shed at the rear of the North Cumberland Hospital.
Witnesses say that the woman was preparing to leave the rally. She was parked behind the hospital, and as she backed up, she may have hit the gas instead of the break. Her car accelerated across the hospital lot, crashing into the small shed next to the EHS building which houses the ambulance bays and paramedics.
A loud crash was heard shortly after the conclusion of the public event.
Pugwash firefighters, who were among the audience, were joined by paramedics to attend to the woman. She was not hurt and was easily removed from the car.
However, there was extensive damage to the shed and unknown damage to the car.
The woman was taken to family, while the car waited for a tow truck.
