On my computer I watch a number of opinion programs hosted by individuals. They sometimes begin by saying "Today we're going to talk about...".  Well, today I'm going to write about discrimination.

I will mourn the death of the printed Chronicle Herald (mists of time-2022) for some time. Oh, I know it is not dead yet, but suspect its days are numbered.

Recently there have been concerns expressed about the future of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre redevelopment project in Amherst. I’m writing to let you know that this important project will continue.

Nova Scotians deserve to know they will have the level of care they need as they age, and they will.

Are you aware that if Dr. Brian Ferguson stops working, the emergency rooms in both Springhill and Pugwash hospitals could be closed?

Tragedy. Strength. Horror. Resilience. Fear. Compassion. Sorrow. Kindness. All of these words come to mind — and I'm sure you can think of a few more — as we look back on 2020, a year we have longed to put behind us but one we will not soon forget.

With municipal elections just a few days away, I want to encourage Nova Scotians to vote on October 17. This is an opportunity to make our voices heard on important local issues and shape the future direction of our communities.

As a country we are grieving and trying to grapple with the aftermath of this weekend’s horrific events in Nova Scotia. The pain we are collectively feeling is deep and reinforces the need to be here for each other in this dark time.
