Bill Martin / Wednesday, November 28, 2018 / Categories: News Charlie Brown Hits Oxford Stage Tonight Tonight is opening night for ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ at the old Oxford Theatre. Two separate production companies will stage four performances between today and Saturday. Both companies are from Cumberland Performing Arts, under the direction of Ruth Collins. Show A opens tonight at 7 pm with a second performance on Saturday at 2 pm. Show B makes its debut tomorrow at 7 pm, with the final show on Saturday at 7 pm. Click HERE for details. A Charlie Brown Christmas has been a mainstay of the holiday season for many years. Based on the famous characters from the creative mind of Charles M. Schultz, it is presented annually as a television special. It was later adapted for the stage, much to the repeated delight of audiences and production companies throughout North America. Collins has been directing theatres performances with children for years. Cumberland Performing Arts uses the Oxford Theatre as its home stage.
