Christmas: The Season of Joy and Love
It is the season of Advent, a time of waiting with expectant anticipation.
Many have scurried around for the last few weeks, gathering the festive treats and fulfilling a gift list of love. Others tended to the task over months, steadfast and true in a more realistic pace.
However, while the season is joyous for many, it is not for all. We are not all blessed in the same way.
Therefore, think of this as a season for sharing. Those who are indeed blessed to abundance are encouraged to to think of others, be they family, neighbours, or total strangers.
When you see a need, fill it. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture, for the simplest effort will be grand to someone in need.
Christmas has been closely associated with love through the centuries. We espouse peace and good cheer and encourage people everywhere with kind wishes of joy and prosperity for the coming year.
It is with that in mind that we — the volunteers behind Six Rivers News and Hope Centre — hope that you find peace and joy this season, and wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
