Colborne won the special election on December 3rd filling the sixth seat on council which was left vacant in the province-wide elections in October. At that time nobody offered for the seat, but after the other five councillors won by acclamation, four stepped forward to vie for the vacancy. In the photo, Colborne was sworn in by the town’s Chief Administrative Officer, Darrell White, who administered the oath required under the provincial Municipal Act. Colborne joked after the ceremony that it reminded him of a marriage vow. Councillor Dawn Thompson replied, “For the next three years you are married to us.” Print 1900 Rate this article: No rating Tags: Oxford Town CouncilBrenton ColborneDarrell White Please login or register to post comments.
