Could It Be, COVID is Finally on the Run?
Nova Scotia reported four new cases of COVID-19 today, three in the Eastern Zone and the other in Central.
That brings the provincial total to has 57 active cases with two people in hospital.
Premier Iain Rankin said, "Just a few months ago we were experiencing the highest rates of COVID-19 that we've ever seen in the province.”
The Premier also noted, ”Vaccine uptake continues to be high, but we are aiming to have at least 85 per cent of eligible Nova Scotians vaccinated.”
The chief medical officer says, "I'm pleased to hear that many employers are supporting their employees' decision to get vaccinated.” Dr. Robert Strang said, "Some employers have gone above and beyond and are encouraging hesitant employees and providing incentives to their employees to get vaccinated."
Premier Rankin says, “Variants can spread much quicker and more easily, so we need to do what we can to prevent it from spreading— get tested, get vaccinated, and continue to follow the public health measures.”
Meanwhile, several of Nova Scotia’s primary assessment centres and public health mobile units are offering walk-in testing as of today, including the Amherst Stadium.
Testing is open to anyone—without appointment—which may be particularly convenient for out-of-province visitors just arriving in Nova Scotia.
The photo shows Dr. Strang after he received his second dose of vaccine, but you can’t help but wonder if he is happy to be finished or trying to send a completely different message.
