Staff Reporter / Wednesday, November 20, 2019 / Categories: News Council to Select New Map of Cumberland Cumberland Municipal Council will meet tonight to discuss a single question — where to draw the boundaries for the newly proposed eight seat council. The County’s planners will table their recommendations based on a review of the geography and population by district, along with any feedback received at two public meetings. Council has already agreed to reduce the number of council seats from 13 to eight and if approved the new electoral districts will be used for the municipal elections next fall. Whatever council decides, the final decision rests with the Nova Scotia Utilities and Review Board. The UARB will hold one public hearing and probably make its announcement early in the new year. Tonight's special meeting gets underway at 5:00 pm at the council chamber in Upper Nappan. Add your comments below.
