County Councillor Will Fight Another Day

The County Councillor representing District 5, the Wallace area, has decided to stay on municipal council.

Lynne Welton walked out of council last week after a decision to deny an extension on a tax sale that would put a man out of his house.

Welton noted the county could spend ten thousand dollars on fireworks but could not find a way to keep a man from living on the street.

The councillor received a lot of positive feedback from taxpayers. Comments with the story on Six Rivers News were very supportive, encouraging her to keep up the fight.

Welton says, “The people here still need a voice.”
