COVID Continues to Surge Outside Cumberland
Another day, another seventy-five new COVID cases in Nova Scotia.
Given the stringent provincial response announced yesterday, there is little can be done but to wait and see if the lockdown will have the desired effect.
Once again the Central Zone reports the bulk of the new infections, 67 of the 75. Only one case is in the Northern Zone but, according to the Mia for Cumberland South, that case is not in Cumberland.
Speaking on Six Rivers Radio’s Morning Talk today, Tory Rushton said there are no active cases in Cumberland County.
The MLA went on to say that the absence of positive cases should not lessen the need to test and vaccinate throughout the county. He said there are no clinics listed for dispensing the Astra Zeneca vaccine and there are immediate plans for asymptomatic testing. Recent plans for pop-up clinics in Advocate and Pugwash were suddenly cancelled as the province re-deployed those facilities elsewhere in the province.
The MLA said he will continue to advocate for both testing and vaccination clinics across the county.
