COVID Numbers Continue Rise in Nova Scotia
With another death and thirty-two new COVID cases, the prospect of re-opening of Nova Scotia’s economy is not likely anytime soon.
Nova Scotia reported the death of a 70-year-old man man from our Northern Zone.
Premier Tim Houston says, "This virus is serious and can have devastating impacts. Do your part and get vaccinated if you haven't done so already.”
The 32 new cases are spread across three health zones: 27 in Central, three in Northern, and two in Eastern.
It brings the provincial total to 205 active cases with 13 people in hospital, including one in ICU.
The chief medical officer of health, Dr. Robert Strang says, "The vaccine can help prevent serious illness, hospitalization and death. I urge Nova Scotians to get both doses and continue to protect themselves and the people around them."
Meanwhile, the Province is now reporting any schools that have been exposed to the virus. Seven schools were notified up to yesterday. None are in Cumberland County or anywhere in the regional school district.
Exposure associated with a school does not mean there is spread within the school or that the initial case was first exposed to the virus in the school.
All staff, parents, and guardians are notified whenever an individual was at the school while infectious. A list of schools with exposures is available online: https://backtoschool.ednet.ns.ca/school-exposures.
