COVID Spikes Again in Northern Zone
The Northern Health Zone outpaced the Central Zone as Nova Scotia reports 28 new cases of COVID-19.
The Northern Zone, which includes Cumberland, accounted for 16 cases, four more than the heavily populated Central Zone surrounding Halifax.
There is also continuing evidence of community spread in the northern area and Halifax Regional Municipality.
While there were 28 new cases, there were 25 offsetting recoveries leaving the province’s active case count at 172, with 14 people in hospital, including five in ICU.
No new cases were reported at East Cumberland Lodge, the long-term care home in Pugwash. A total of 32 residents and 11 staff members at the home have tested positive, and three of the infected residents have died.
