Dandelion Flotilla Paddles Today
The Dandelion Flotilla will paddle down the Wallace River today, making its first appearance in the Annual Dandelion Festival in Wallace.
The Wallace Area Development Association added the paddle event as part of the now famous Dandelion Festival. It joins the two annual flotilla events that paddle the Pugwash River. More and more attention is being focussed on the potential of the six waterways in Six Rivers to the Sea.
Paddlers gather at Bidwell's near the Kerr's Mill bridge for a group start at 1:30 pm. The flotilla will paddle the Wallace River, at high tide, to the ramp at the wharf in Wallace Harbour, as shown on the attached map.
Arrangements have been made for safety assistance, first aid, and a security boat. The organizers will also provide a shuttle service between the start point and Wallace.
Paddlers are expected in plenty of time to join the Dandelion Supper, between 4 and 6 pm, at the Wallace Masonic Hall.
