Day Two of Boil Water Order for Oxford
The boil water order for residents of Oxford continues today following a weekend power outage at the town’s chlorination plant.
While the power was restored, the town must respond with a number of tests to ensure the safety of drinking water. The Department of Environment requires tests to ensure the absence of pathogens and/or bacteria.
The results of those tests, submitted to the Province, will be known late Wednesday.
Until then, residents are asked to boil all water for at least one minute. This includes any water used for drinking, ice cubes, washing food, brushing teeth, or any other activity requiring human or domestic animal consumption
Once given the all clear, the boil order will be removed.
