Drowning Suspected in Poison Lake

A 78 year old man from Springhill is dead following a boating mishap, on Poison Lake, Thursday evening.

Oxford RCMP responded to a 911 call at 6:42 pm for a report of a man who was unresponsive in the lake, near a boat.

Witnesses had seen the man, in the boat, just prior to the 911 call. He was not wearing a life jacket or floatation device.

Cumberland District RCMP, and members of the Northeast Nova Major Crimes Unit are working with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner's Service as the investigation continues.

Police say foul play is not suspected.
