Ekphrastic Art Opens at Riverside Gallery
The Riverside Gallery in Oxford was a popular spot last night with the official opening of a new exhibit called “Neither Rhyme Nor Reason”.
The new exhibit, which runs till September 28th, features paintings by local artist Louise Cloutier and poems by Richard Dittami.
Cloutier, who spent several years as an art teacher at Pugwash District High School, now operates “Art Quarters” in Pugwash where she teaches adults and all ages in various forms of art expression.
Dittami is a poet whose work has been described as ‘ekphrastic’, a vivid, often dramatic, verbal description of a visual work of art, either real or imagined.
The couple, partners in life, are well acquainted with each other’s work.
The Oxford Riverside Gallery is located in the Oxford Town Hall and is open during regular town hall hours.
The attached photo shows Cloutier and Dittami at the Riverside Gallery.
