Everyone Invited to Public Health Meeting

Senior officials from the Northern Zone of Nova Scotia Health are bracing for a contentious meeting in Pugwash tomorrow. The meeting was made contentious when those same officials fought so hard to avoid the session in the first place.

A demand for information swelled up from the grass roots as delays in construction of the new hospital, coupled with repeated closure of the existing emergency service triggered fears within the community.

Nova Scotia Health appeared to be shifting to Urgent Care, but failed to explain what that would mean in the new hospital.

When the call for a public meeting became a demand, NS Health agreed to a meeting, but with invited guests only, though they offered no suggestion of how somebody would qualify for an invitation.

A request to stage an open, public meeting was supported by the Premier’s office and that meeting is set for tomorrow at 6 pm at the Pugwash High School. Everyone is invited and no pre-registration is required.
