Staff Reporter / Tuesday, March 19, 2019 / Categories: News Ground is Officially Broken at Eaton Park It’s official. Ground has officially been broken for the site of the new Eaton Park stage. The Village Commission Chair Bill Martin (left) and Commissioner Charley Gould posed for the ceremonial photo with the golden shovel today as construction continues around them on the site of the new performing arts centre. APM Construction, of Mount Uniacke, NS wasted no time in getting started. The old stage was barely out of the way when APM moved heavy equipment into the park and began preparing the site. Their effort was slowed a little by frost as the big backhoe was unable to penetrate the frozen crust which was over five feet deep in some areas. The construction team brought in a mechanical hammer to pound the crust until the earth could be moved. Despite the minor setback, officials are confident the project will be finished by June 15th, the date specified in the contract.
