Staff Reporter / Sunday, September 25, 2022 / Categories: News Hurricane Fiona, the Aftermath in Brief Most provincial offices will be closed Monday in the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona. From Kings/Lunenburg to the north and west will close while Southwest Nova Scotia will be open as usual. Nova Scotia Health advises that Northern Zone primary care services will be closed in leased locations that do not have power. COVID testing centres will be closed Monday so staff can be redeployed; some elective surgeries will be postponed. Cumberland County will proceed with regular solid waste collection as scheduled on Monday. Solid waste collection cannot take place on lanes and roads obstructed by trees or power lines. The Pugwash transfer station will be open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm from Monday to Saturday. Transfer stations accept construction and demolition material, scrap metal, and brush.
