Lenore Zann, Federal Candidate, NDP or Liberal?
The New Democrat MLA for Truro-Bible Hill is considering a run at federal politics in Cumberland-Colchester. There has been speculation for some time, but Lenore Zann revealed a big surprise today on Six Rivers Radio.
Zann says she is considering requests from two different parties: the NDP and the Liberals.
A ten year veteran of provincial politics, Zann says it might be time to move to the bigger arena to fight for issues dear to her, including the environment and climate change.
The former actress surprised political pundits when she first won the seat in the heart of Tory country. Truro-Bille Hill had been held for years by Jamie Muir, and before that, it was known as “Bob Stanfield Country”. For many, repeating her victory in subsequent provincial elections was equally surprising.
Known as a tenacious campaigner, maybe there should be no surprise.
The Liberal nomination is wide open as Bill Casey made it clear he will not be offering for a second term as a Liberal.
