McCormick Named Acting CAO in Cumberland
The Municipality of Cumberland has named an acting Chief Administrative Officer while searching for a replacement for the retiring Rennie Bugley.
Allie McCormick, the county's Manager of Organization, Development, and Innovation, was appointed the acting CAO during a special online meeting this evening.
McCormick has been on staff in Cumberland since 2015. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master's in Public Administration.
Council approved an early retirement plan for Bugley earlier this month saying they would hire an executive recruitment agency to help with a national search. However, that plan changed tonight when council rescinded the January 13th motion and decided to look closer to home, in keeping with the municipality’s usual practice.
McCormick will work with the search committee to establish the terms of reference for her interim position.
There are no plans, at present, to celebrate the retirement with the former CAO because of current COVID regulations which limit public gatherings.
