Staff Reporter / Monday, January 30, 2023 / Categories: News, Sports Miners Suffer Critical Home Loss The Springhill Coal Miners dropped an important game before a home crowd on Saturday, as the visiting River Valley Lumberjacks skated to a 4-2 win. The visitors opened the scoring early in the game but Rene George tied it up late in the first period. Springhill took a 2-1 lead early in the second, thanks to Parker Deighan. The Lumberjacks stormed back with three unanswered goals to carry the win. The loss was huge for the Miners, who plunged from third place to fifth, at the bottom of the division.
