MLA Carries Local Issues to Halifax
The MLA for Cumberland North is carrying a few issues into the Nova Scotia Legislature today.
Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin says, “As a registered nurse, it angers me to see so many people unable to access the medical care they need in a timely manner.”
The MLA added, “I know some people who do not have a family physician and did not want to wait long hours in an emergency room and ended up having poor outcomes. It is simply not acceptable to leave our health care system in this state. Immediate action is needed.”
Smith McCrossin will also renew her call for the tolls to be removed from the Cobequid Pass.
She says, ”The legislation around the Cobequid Pass states clearly that once the debt for the highway is paid, the collection of tolls is to cease.”
According to financial records, the highway is due to be paid-in-full this year.
