Mobile Health Clinic Sets Up in Pugwash
The emergency department at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Pugwash was closed Thursday, Friday, and will be closed all weekend.
However, Nova Scotia Health will open a mobile primary care clinic to fill some of the void. The clinic will be open Saturday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
It is a temporary service to provide primary care for people with mild or moderate health concerns. A team of doctors and nurse practitioners will be on site.
It operates as a drop-in clinic. You show up with no appointment and give the reason for your visit. If they can help you, you will be given an approximate appointment time.
You need your health card and it is wise to have a list of your medications.
The clinic is not an emergency service. It is designed for non-urgent health issues.
If you need emergency care, call 911 or go to the regional hospital near Amherst.
