Staff Reporter / Wednesday, February 20, 2019 / Categories: News Municipal Council Meeting Cancelled The meeting of Cumberland Municipal Council, intended tonight, has been cancelled due to a water break. The Upper Nappan Service Centre, home to the council chamber, is without water as of late afternoon. The water break also affects the largest group of the county’s staff. Council is in the middle of a major review of policies and services. Staff prepared a report on area rate calculations for the cost of the regional transfers stations. The agenda for tonight’s meeting included a call for a decision on whether to close the transfer stations, add an area tax, or leave things as they are. All the options have proved to be somewhat contentious.
