Staff Reporter / Friday, November 22, 2019 / Categories: News New MP Tackles Local Cumberland Issues The new Member of Parliament for Cumberland-Colchester says the provincial department of transportation says there is little danger of sinkhole activity along the Trans Canada Highway near Oxford. Lenore Zann says she was assured by the department’s deputy minister that drilling tests show the highway is stable. Using her contacts from ten years of experience with the provincial government, Zann is tackling some local issues before heading to Ottawa next week for her swearing-in ceremony. She also said the proposed new school for Springhill will be built for 2021, as planned. The Minister of Education recently tabled a school capital plan that suggested the Springhill project had been bumped back another two years. Zann says the minister confirmed the school is on track for the earlier date. The new MP made her comments on Six Rivers Radio during an interview on Morning Talk. Add your comments below.
