New Rescue Truck for Shinimicas Fire

The volunteer fire department in Shinimicas is getting a new-to-them rescue vehicle.  

Cumberland County Council approved the purchase of a used vehicle tonight at a cost of $70,000.

This is over the county budget so the municipality will pay $60,000 and the fire department will cover the balance.

The approved vehicle is a 2009 Ford walk-in rescue unit with 88,000 miles on the odometer.

The county’s fire vehicle technician did a mechanical inspection and the seller will complete required repairs.
