NS Health Host 2nd Springhill Support Meet
Health officials will host a second public gathering in Springhill tomorrow. This follows the meeting yesterday at the Murray Community Centre to address concerns about drug abuse dangers facing the community.
Nova Scotia Health will be joined by Northern Healthy Connections, and Cumberland Homelessness and Housing Support Association to build on the earlier community conversation, provide additional support and share information on substance use and harm reduction strategies.
The session will open with each partner organization describing how they provide support.
In recent months, Springhill families have lost loved ones to drug overdoses. The groups are coming together to share information about their programs and support.
This afternoon session is designed to equip residents with the knowledge and resources to provide support to their fellow community members, if needed.
People of all ages are invited to attend this community wellness event from 1 to 3 pm in the Teen Centre at the Dr. Carson & Marion Murray Community Centre.
