NS Power Postpones Pugwash Repair
Nova Scotia Power has postponed repairs at the Pugwash sub-station, the source of a power interruption yesterday.
The company intended to replace a ‘recloser’ that failed, causing a seven-hour outage to Pugwash, Gulf Shore Road, North Wallace, and area.
Crews re-routed power around the failed equipment, ending the outage last night about 7:00 pm.
A spokesman says that fix is stable and the company has decided to wait till more favourable conditions before replacing the recloser. They will also select a day and time to reduce the number of power customers who would be affected by the planned interruption.
Over 14 hundred customers went without power for nearly seven hours when the service failed at noon.
Customers will receive a recorded telephone announcement prior to the planned outage.
