One Night Gets More Awesome
The chickens and ducks are ready. So are the two sheep, two goats, two cows, two horses, and one donkey. In fact, all the animals are ready for One Awesome Night, the Bethlehem Live event set for the Pugwash Farmers’ Market.
The churches of Pugwash are collaborating to present life in Bethlehem, two thousand and eighteen years ago. It will be One Awesome Night, from 6 to 8 pm, on Friday, December 7th.
The market will be transformed into a Bethlehem streetscape with stalls for the animals, the census takers, the tax collector, and the market vendors who will not, in fact, be vending, but rather giving freely. They will offer edible treats along with hot drinks to ward off the winter chills.
Join the choir to sing seasonal carols, or watch a video presentation that sets the stage for the world-changing, historical event.
There will be a children’s program, complete with a scavenger hunt and craft stall.
All of this will be under the watchful eye of Roman soldiers who are committed to keeping the Bethlehem peace.
Despite the presence of Caesar’s tax collectors, there will be no charge, though organizers hope you will get into the spirit of the night by wearing a period costume.
