Open Air Gallery Seeks Space "on" the Library
The Pugwash Open Air Gallery wants to expand to the new library.
The gallery of artworks, scattered on the outer walls of community buildings, wants to add the new Pugwash Library to its roster of displays.
Norene Smiley and Louise Cloutier made pitch on behalf of the group to County Council yesterday.
The Pugwash Open Air Gallery, known as POAG for short, installed reproductions of local artists’ work throughout the community.
Another project of Pugwash Communities in Bloom, POAG became an instant hit and another popular attraction for visitors.
The delegation appeared before council to seek permission to expand to the village’s newest building.
The installations are of high and lasting quality, telling a story of the art piece while promoting art and the local artist who created it.
