Outdoor Aladdin Cancelled at Harbourfront Centre
Lost among all the community activities that were shut down, by the coronavirus pandemic, was the first ever stage play at the Pugwash Harbourfront Centre.
Cumberland Performing Arts, the group that has staged a series of Disney productions in Oxford over the last number of years, planned a road trip to Pugwash for later this month.
The group had been rehearsing for Aladdin when the public health measures were imposed, effectively closing the two shows at Harbourfront before they could open.
The executive director of the group, Ruth Collins, said she had long wanted to perform outdoors and the new performing arts centre in Pugwash offered the perfect opportunity.
While Eaton Park is now open, public gatherings are still banned, and physical distancing is still required, neither of which allows any wiggle room to stage a major production at Harbourfront Centre.
The executive director of Cumberland Performing Arts will be a guest on Six Rivers Radio, Friday at 8:45 on Morning Talk. Click HERE to listen.
