Oxford Flashmob Greets Moncton Moviegoers
When you go to a movie, the last thing you expect is two dozen kids to appear in the lobby to sing for you. Yet, that is exactly what happened for moviegoers in Moncton who got a sneak preview of a hit song from Lion King the movie.
A group from Cumberland Performing Arts (CPA) surprised guests at the theatre with a flashmob performance of the song ‘The Circle of Life”.
The Oxford-based entertainers are under the watchful eye of Ruth Collins their perennial director.
CPA offered six performances of ‘Lion King Junior’, their stage production of the popular Disney hit, earlier this year in Oxford and Amherst.
The surprised moviegoers were treated to a song and dance routine from the young thespians, complete with a few of the animal costumes from Joy Shears, the costume designer for the troupe.
CPA is keeping busy this summer painting a musical mural in downtown Oxford. The big reveal is planned for August 24th at ‘Blueberry Corner’.
The group is hosting a 14km fundraising walkathon on July 27th.
