Staff Reporter / Friday, April 26, 2019 / Categories: News Oxford Hosts Encore Poetry Festival Oxford is celebrating its 2nd Annual Poetry Festival this weekend. It opens Saturday with a poetry breakfast at Trinity United Church and ends Sunday with a Poetry Café at the same venue, but in between, you’ll find activity throughout the town. Eleven local poets will be reading from their own works at locations scattered across the town. Times are scheduled for each poet from 1:00 to 3:30 pm. There will be an evening of folk music at the church at 7:00 o’clock. Sunday’s Poetry Café will feature national and international poetry award winner, Harry Thurston along with spoken word poet and social justice advocate, Ashley Avery. They will be joined by Bruce Graham, Richard Dittami, and Evange Landry will read works of Mi'kmaw poet, Rita Joe. Click HERE for further detail.
