Staff Reporter / Thursday, July 1, 2021 / Categories: News Oxford Ready to Open Its Long-awaited Library The new library in Oxford opens tomorrow. It has been more than a year since the Water Street location was closed due to building safety issues. The new facility, in the former Oxford Journal Building, shares space with a fitness gym on Rideau Street, just behind Oxford Heritage Square. Renovations were completed over the winter and shelves now hold a new collection of books and materials. Tomorrow’s opening is considered a soft launch. The chief librarian, Denise Corey, says a grand opening is planned for later when public health restrictions are somewhat more relaxed. Add your comments below.
