PC Leader Calls for Traveller COVID Tests
The imposition of Emergency Measures to fight the coronavirus pandemic is approaching its first anniversary and the end of social restrictions still seems illusive.
The leader of Nova Scotia’s official opposition says it is long past due to insist that travellers be tested at the province’s airports and land entry points.
Government issues flight exposure notices but refuses to fund airport testing. The bulk, if not all, positive COVID tests have been traced back to travel ever since the outbreak in China. Houston has called for testing at points of entry since early in the summer.
“Nova Scotians are stepping up and getting tested,” says Houston, “They have the right to expect the same from any person stepping into this province.”
Houston also renewed his call for 24-hour vaccinations. Medical professionals, like dentists and pharmacists have said they are willing to assist. The PC leader says the urgency to vaccinate the majority of residents should not be limited to a 9 to 5 operation.
