Staff Reporter / Wednesday, May 1, 2019 / Categories: News PDHS Students Complete a Garbage Haul How many students does it take to clean litter from our streets? Answer: just one. But look at what can happen when we work as a team. Students at Pugwash District High School banded together for the community’s 2019 Great Garbage Challenge. They cleaned the grounds of their school then went next door to clean the Cyrus Eaton Elementary School, and the grounds of the Northumberland Memorial Hospital. The attached photo shows the group in front of their school with a sizeable haul. They collected about twenty bags of litter, along with a large tub, a chair, and an old sewing machine. About thirty other groups took part in the challenge covering streets, roads, and locations in the village and the surrounding area. Add your comments below.
