Premier Campaigns with Lockhart in Springhill
The Liberal candidate in the Cumberland South by-election says there is a sense of excitement approaching the halfway point of the campaign.
Scott Lockhart and volunteers have been busy knocking on doors and connecting with residents about issues.
Campaigning today in Springhill, Premier Stephen McNeil said, “The residents of Cumberland South deserve to have a local voice at the government caucus table.”
The Premier opened a thorny subject when he said, “Our commitment to building a new school in Springhill is not a campaign promise, it’s a government promise.” He added, “The community needs to have the voice of their MLA at the table to ensure the school meets the needs of the community.”
Lockhart says he is enjoying the campaign trail. “As I hit the doors, residents have been telling me that it’s time for a change. For far too long, the riding has been in a place of negativity, but now we need to act.”
