Premier Stephen McNeil and Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia's chief medical officer of health, will provide an update on further steps to reopen Nova Scotia's economy in a press conference today at 3 pm. Past press events dealt with the latest updates to COVID-19 statistics. Today’s focus on re-opening the economy is a marked departure and more welcome news. Nova Scotia recorded one new case of COVID yesterday, bringing the province’s total number of infections to 1,053. The new positive confirmation was found among 533 tests conducted yesterday at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. The new case was identified at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax which remains the only such facility in the province with active cases of COVID-19.
