Province Extends Emergency Order Again
Nova Scotia will renew the COVID-19 state of emergency for another two weeks, the maximum time allowed under provincial law. The new order will take effect at noon Sunday and extend to noon Sunday, September 6th.
It is this special declaration of emergency that gives authority to the public health guidelines announced in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The province has renewed the order every two weeks since the pandemic began in Nova Scotia back in March.
There were no new cases reported today from the 641 tests conducted at the microbiology lab at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.
There are currently five active cases, four in the Northern Health Zone and one in Central.
To date, Nova Scotia has 70,315 negative test results, 1,077 positive COVID-19 cases and 64 deaths. One person is currently in hospital. One thousand and eight cases have been resolved.
