The Village Commission approved a metal sculpture of the internationally recognized symbol of peace. It will be installed by Pugwash Communities in Bloom. In presenting the concept, Louise Cloutier suggested the five foot diameter sculpture would likely become central for photographers as it sets a focal point for keepsake shots with the harbour or sunset as a backdrop. CiB will also stage an art show in the park during HarbourFest in late July. That will include guided wagon tours of the many art pieces installed on buildings throughout the community as part of the group’s Open Air Gallery. A third proposal to host a tree decorating event in Eaton Park is waiting for further detail. The photo — a mock-up — shows how the installation will look. Courtesy of Louise Cloutier.
