Two candidates have stepped forward. Roger Mundle and Douglas Leahey filed nomination papers yesterday and the race is on for the December 1st by-election. Mundle is a former Chair of the Commission, while Leahey is making his first foray into municipal politics. The Commission is intended to have five members who serve for three years. However, the winner of this election will serve just over two, completing the term left vacant by Christie Blackie’s resignation earlier this year. Blackie stepped down for personal reasons.
